A Buckeye Victory..a Snow Day... and Basketball

Well it is only the 11th of January and it has been an eventful year so far. We have had lots of football, snow, basketball and apparently, 2011 is going to be the year of the illness. We have had a stomach bug and strep throat...but the kids do not seem to let that get them down. Now it is wearing us adults out...but oh well:) We had our first legitimate snowfall this past weekend. The kids were so excited- they got all dressed up in their "Texas Snow Gear" which amounts to layers of clothes and the warmest coat we can find. They did not seem to be bothered at all by the lack of waterproof apparel.

Jeanne and Will had a ball playing outside together..there was not even any fighting, just lots of laughing and screaming. I guess we need snow more often.

Jeanne was very happy to ride around in the back of the "sleigh" as she called it.

I had to dress her in some old pants of Will's which she was not pleased about. She kept complaining that they were falling off...I guess she was right.

Will was enjoying himself too.

We are very into football these days...hence the punting in the snow. I keep telling Brian...train him to be a kicker:)

Will's latest sport of interest is basketball..he has not played until now, but seems to really enjoy it. He is quite the scrappy little player. He is on a team with several friends from Tadlock, so they have been having a lot of fun together!

The day after the Buckeye Sugar Bowl win! He wanted to wear his jersey to school. Ahhh..daddy was so proud:)

Happy New Year!

It would not be a New Year without a visit from our cousins, a few too many Mai Tais, and some hot tub time. The kids had a blast in the hot tub with CC and Dave..we eventually had to kick them out on account of pruning. They absolutely love their cousins and ask about them every day. They miss them terribly.

Gigi- what a wonderful hostess for this year's Mai Tai Fest. She even made her own entry..which was quite good.

Uncle Mike and Jeanne were entertaining the crowd with a rousing rendition of "Raise your Glass" while Aunt Julie and Mamie passed out their "white trash" Mai Tai. You can always count on Uncle Mike for some kind of performance....he now has back up dancers.

Jillian loved having Aunt Julie here! They spent lots of quality time together playing Zhu Zhu pets.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! We had a great Christmas. The kids were very excited that Santa came and brought them all the things on their list. Will got an aircraft carrier and some new Wii games that he was wanting. Jeanne got a pink camera and a pink I-Pod..just what every 4 year old asks for..right? Jillian got a scooter and lots of Zhu Zhu pets and Zhu Zhu pet accessories. She is officially the crazy hamster lady. She absolutely loves them. They all had a lot of fun opening presents and playing non-stop since.

Kit got a lovely new outfit from Gigi and Papa, so we had to try it on. She looks beautiful!
You will notice that Jeanne is not wearing the same pajamas..she tried on every new pair of PJs she got on Christmas morning.

Santa brought Will an Ohio State football and Gigi and Papa got him a new Razor Scooter. Both have already gotten a lot of use so far.

Santa brought Will this really cool aircraft carrier with several new airplanes to play with. He has had a lot of fun with it so far. Papa really liked it and can't wait to come and play.:)

Other Random Things in December

After months of waiting, Will finally lost his first tooth! It was very dramatic and mom had to help him out a bit. But once it came out, it was very exciting. The tooth fairy did pay Will a visit and it was extremely exciting. Now we are are constantly checking for any new wiggly teeth.

Matty was over and got to take a bath with Jeanne and Jillian. As you can see, they all had a good time!

Happy 4th Birthday Jeanne Bean!

Jeanne turned 4 on December 7, 2010. She was very excited to have all her friends at a pool party. Since it was December the kids all really enjoyed the swimming. She had a great day and has already been counting the days until she turns 5. Go figure.

So it seems as though football pretty much consumed our entire life this fall..as I am having trouble finding any photographic evidence that we did anything else. Ahh well..such is life in TX I guess. As the season went on the boys got better and Jeanne and a couple other girls became the Razorback cheer squad since our team did not get cheerleaders..I guess they ran out:) She took her duties very seriously and she would go from her soccer games to cheering and change in the car. It was very hard core. Seriously it made all the football more fun for her and we all got a lot of laughs during the half time show. Will and Brian really enjoyed the season...but we are enjoying a little break from the football:)
