Go Razorbacks!

Jillian was really devastated by the loss:(
Go Razorbacks..something I never thought I would utter...clothing with a large pig on it..something I never thought I would own. But here I find myself, officially a Texas Football Mom...it is only flag..but apparently..no one knows that but me:) Will has started playing football much to Brian's joy and delight! Brian is even an official FFL Coach with badge and licence whistle and clipboard. This all started back in the spring when Brian took will to the combine..I mean skills test..and we got the fabulous news that he had been "drafted" a Razorback. I am pretty sure this all bodes well for his future in the NFL..I mean I think a lot of NFL players got their start in the FFL..right?

So...we got drafted..Brian somehow became an assistant coach and I became a team manager. Does a 6 year old flag football team need a manager you ask..the answer is yes..I have come to find out. If you don't have a manager..who is going to order the car decals, yard signs and spirit wear? Who will organize the team parties and the creation of spirit items like cow bells and water bottle shakers for the games? Yes---it is as crazy as it sounds...if you don't believe me..check out some pics from our first game.

All kidding aside and in full awareness of how ridiculous this is..Will is having a lot of fun, almost as much as Brian, and Jeanne is even getting into it a bit now that I bought her a Razorbacks cheerleader outfit. We did not win our first game or even score a touchdown..but Will is on defense and pulled 4 flags! That is all he cared about:) Stay tuned for more funny stories from our first experience with Texas football.

Razorbacks Team Manager:)

Isn't this a little physical for flag?
Victory! Well at least he stopped the extra point...they do not kick in flag football apparently..they just go for one the hard way:)

Get that Flag!

Fun with the Umbrella's..no it was not raining...it was so hot that we had umbrellas..much to the younger siblings delight!

Number 49..just like his daddy back in the day:)

Strike a pose!

Trying out her new uniform..she got up today...after the game and wanted to know if she could go cheer for Will again today.:) She was disappointed that she would have to wait until next week!

Back to School for Everyone!

It has been a busy couple of weeks getting everyone back to school. Will is in 1st grade and loving it so far. He is very social and seems to find friends wherever he goes. He has a wonderful teacher that we are thrilled with and all is well so far. Jeanne is in preschool again this year, but her big excitement is that she gets to each lunch at school this year! For someone who rarely eats an actual meal without drama this is a bit surprising...but nonetheless exciting for her. She has 2 great teachers and knows several kids in the class from last year, so she was very excited about that.
All ready to go with her backpack and Twinkle Toes..that was a very big deal:)

Daddy's girl???

Vacation! St. George Island_Cousins

We had tons of fun on vacation! The kids were so excited to have all of their cousins around. We were so lucky to have Madisyn, Matt, Caitlin an Dave all with us for at least part of the time. Baby Matt made his debut at St. George and Jillian showed him the ropes..when she was not hitting him or trying to climb on him. Sadly, she thinks his name is "nice" because that is what we are always telling her when he is around. Now she goes up to him, swats at him and says "ice".
Trying to get Matty..it won't be long before Matty will be able to defend himself:)
CC, Dave, Will, Jeanne and Jillian...this was no small feat to get a picture with eyes open and most participants looking at the camera.
Look how sweet they look here..Matt is still having fun!
Jeanne and Madisyn modeling their matching skirts with Will for good measure.

The Bumbo...or the baby cupholder
Will and Dave spent a lot of time on the beach building sandcastles and playing in the water...Will is lucky to have such an awesome cousin!

Vacation! St. George Island_Crabbing

This year for the first time in years we decided that if we were going to pack up all three kids and all their stuff...we would make it a two week trip! It was awesome and I think we will try and do two weeks whenever we can. The weather was gorgeous and the Gulf was beautiful..not a drop of oil to be seen. We all had a great time...we had the whole family there...including the Cox's from Ohio and my mom and dad, Jessica, Mike and Matt and Jeff.
The water was crystal clear and there were tons of blue crabs..so the boys and Jeanne spent a lot of time as the crab hunters:)
Lots of gear was required for an operation of this nature.
Will was posing for the Crab Hunters Calendar.

Still a little on clear on how to use said nets..

Happy Birthday Will!

Will celebrated his 6th birthday this summer with a pool party! He had a great time with family and friends. The kids did not even seem to mind that it was really..really...hot! Ah...summer in Texas, always a delight. We were also very lucky to have Madisyn, Marissa, Dawn and Shawn in town for the big event. It is be coming an annual tradition that they are here to celebrate with us each year!
